Both in Dutch and English, there are many ways in which verbs can be part of adjectives or adverbs:

voorspelbaar predictable spraakzaam talkative
slapeloos sleepless vervelend annoying
dromerig dreamy bewerkelijk elaborate

To form a verb-based adjective, we can add suffixes like -baar, -zaam, -ig, etc. Here, we will discuss two types of verb-based adjectives: the gerund and the verbable.
