HINDELOOPEN (ANP) - De diefstal en vernieling van een wuppie heeft onlangs geleid tot de escalatie van een burenruzie in Hindeloopen.

De buren lagen al langere tijd met elkaar in de clinch, maar toen een vriend van een van de gezinnen het WK-speeltje van de buurman ontvreemdde, barstte de bom. De gedupeerde eigenaar stapte naar de politie.

Dat bevestigde een woordvoerster van de politie Friesland zondag, naar aanleiding van een bericht in de Telegraaf. De buurman was volgens de zegsvrouw zodanig aangeslagen dat hij aangifte heeft gedaan van de diefstal. Hij had vanuit zijn supportershart toch een band met de wuppie."

De politie heeft proces-verbaal opgemaakt en de zaak ligt nu bij het Openbaar Ministerie (OM), die moet kijken of verdere juridische stappen nodig zijn.

Volgens de politiewoordvoerster is de ruzie nog niet gesust. "Geen van de partijen wil water bij de wijn doen."

HINDELOOPEN (ANP) - The theft and demolition of a wuppie

recently led to an escalation of a neighbours' quarrel in Hindeloopen.

There had already been bad blood for a while between the neighbours but when a friend of one of the families stole the WC toy of the neighbour, the bomb exploded. The hurt owner went to the police.

The spokeswoman of the Frysian police confirmed this on Sunday, after a report in the Telegraaf

. According to the spokeswoman, the neighbour had been so dreadfully cut up by it that he reported the theft. ,,From his supporter's heart, he did have a bond with the wuppie".

The police has filed a report and the case is now at the Public Prosecutor, who has to decide whether further legal steps are necessary.

According to the police spokeswoman, the fight between the neighbours has not come to an end yet. ,,Neither party wants to add water to the wine."'
