English version by Bieneke Berendsen :: other languages
What zullen (to 'will') and kunnen (to be able, can) have in common is that they share the same irregular vowel change in the 1st and 3rd person of the Internal link present tense.

Zullen is the auxiliary verb we use for the Internal link future tense.

simple present
simple past
ik zal I will ik zou I would
je zult / zal * you will je zou you would
hij zal he would hij zou he would
we zullen we will we zouden we would
jullie zullen you will jullie zouden you would
ze zullen they will ze zouden they would
past participle: gezuld** auxiliary verb for pp: hebben

* Je zult and je zal are both correct.
** You will rarely come across the past participle 'gezuld'. Zullen is used as an auxiliary verb for the future tense. This means it always precedes (supports) another verb. When a Internal link past participle acts as an auxiliary for another verb, it turns into an infinitive.

Note the similarities between zullen and kunnen:

simple present
simple past
ik kan I can ik kon I could
je kunt/kan * you can je kon you could
hij kan he can hij kon he could
we kunnen we can we konden we could
jullie kunnen you can jullie konden you could
ze kunnen they could ze konden they could
past participle: gekund auxiliary verb for pp: hebben

Je kunt and je kan are both correct.

Note that the examples above give you the unstressed Internal link personal pronouns. Some pronouns change when they are stressed in a phrase: je/jij, we/wij, ze/zij (both singular and plural).
