Re: Prezi on Dutch word order

Hoi Joke, Het ziet er goed uit hoor. Meer vloeibaar dan een powerpoint of zo. Under "Place" shouldn't "In Africa" have the underline and not "drie jaar"? A probable "stripe-o" instead of a "typo". Under miscellaneous I don't understand the first example line. Why isn't it - "Je moet daar het geld in...

Re: Streaming talk radio in Dutch

I found a neat "app" that runs on my "android" phone. It is called "radio.be". With it I can choose from most all of the Belgian radio stations and listen to them from my "gsm". Two stations that I particularly like are "Humorzender.be" and "jouwradio". The first one plays comedy sketches and comic ...

Re: Tekst/selfstudieboeken voor middelmatig tot gevorderd niveau

I have had that book for years. It is a great reference for the English speaker learning Dutch.

I refer back to it every now and then. In my opinion it is a great value for your money!

You won't be disappointed!

Re: Why are these spelled/pronounced differently?

Oops! Quetzal and I must have been posting at the same time. Oh well, the posts are complementary! Good Luck with learning. I also used Rosetta Stone long ago. It was good for practice and getting your ear and brain accustomed to Dutch. I don't remember there being any grammar in the course however....

Re: hoi mensen!

Natuurlijk waren de slechte woorden een van de eerste! Maar als ik een goeie woord moet kiezen dan zal het een "pintje" zijn. In Vlaanderen is "een pintje" - a glass of beer. In Nederland zeggen ze - "een pils" of "een pilsje" Dat is heel belangrijk oom te leren hoor! :D Laten we een pilsje gaan pak...

Welkom greenlegs :-D

Ik kom ook uit Amerika hoor! Net als u kan ik beter spreken dan schrijven.

Maar ik vind spreken en begrijpen belangrijker. Jij bent heel goed bezig.

Ik wens u succes. Alles zal in orde komen. =D>

As always any user should be cautious of what they download from the internet, especially executables!

I felt compelled to remind everyone of that.

Re: Basic Dutch: A grammar and workbook

It is a combination. But there is no dialect.

There is NO "Gij zijt" for example and you don't hear "gere" instead of "graag". On the other hand you do hear the softer "g" quite often. It is a nice mix I think. It may be a little weighted on the "Belgian Dutch" side though.

Re: Basic Dutch: A grammar and workbook

If you want a lot of exercises and examples with key rules of word order and such I suggest the following two sets of books/cds/dvds. The first is Vanzelfsprekend. http://www.acco.be/uitgeverij/nl/publication/9789033473746/vanzelfsprekend.+nederlands+voor+anderstaligen.+cd%27s There is an "English" ...

Re: is~~zijn

Ik denk dat "Dat" vervangt "het tarief".

Het tarief is drie strippen. Het tarief kost u drie strippen.

"Het tarief" = "Dat" = enkelvoud

Volgens mijn is het daarom.
