Can someone please explain the differences between those? I never know which word I should use for "to."

In general, you use 'naar' for the English 'to'.

Do you feel like going to the cinema?
Heb je zin om naar de bioscoop te gaan?


In the sense 'give sg to sy', you use 'aan' (or nothing: 'give sy sg').

Kees gives two books to Joke.
Kees geeft twee boeken aan Joke.

Kees gives Joke two books.
Kees geeft Joke twee boeken.


In the sense 'to do sg', you use nothing, 'te' or 'om ... te'.

What do you want to eat?
Wat wil je eten?

I tried to ring him up.
Ik probeerde hem op te bellen.

I have a problem to solve.
Ik heb een probleem om op te lossen.

It's (a) quarter to six.
Het is kwart voor zes.
