There are many clouds in the sky. / There are a lot of clouds in the sky.
= Er zijn veel wolken aan de hemel.

1) veel wolken or vele wolken
2) aan de hemel or in de hemel
3) Which of the following sentences are correct in case that " veel wolken"," aan de hemel" and " ... de lucht" are correct?
a) Er zijn veel wolken aan de lucht.
b) Er zijn veel wolken in de lucht.

"Veel", not "vele", and "aan de hemel" but "in de lucht". Yes, confusing. :P "In de hemel" is debatable, it's not necessarily wrong but will make people think you're actually talking about heaven.
