Already

Hello everyone!

I really can't understand how to say "already" in sentences like these:
- I already know him.
- I have already done it.

My try:
- Ik ken hem al.
- Ik heb het al gedaan.

But, I don't know, are there other ways to say "already"? How to use them?

Thank you very much and merry Christmas :)

Both are fine!

There is a word reeds that has the same meaning, but it is pretty old-fashioned. To emphasize al you can add lang. Ik had het allang gedaan: I finished it a long time ago. It adds a certain indignation: why do you even bother ask me about that?

Thank you very much and merry Christmas :)

En ook jou een Vrolijk Kerstfeest toegewenst.
