Koopt Niet Rosetta Stone Level 3!

Why? It is TERRIBLE! I used the Rosetta Stone levels 1 and 2, version 2, and although it wasn't nearly as impressive as the commercials would have you believe, it at least gave me a decent foundation of the Dutch language (with the help of several auxillary sources as well). Level 2 actually had some fairly challenging material towards the end. Here are some examples:

"Ja meneer, ik zeg altijd: het geheim van een gelukkig huwelijk zit hem in het samen dingen doen."

"O, maak je over mijn vader maar geen zorgen. Hij is al uren geleden naar bed gegaan."

"Wat zou u zeggen als ik u vertelde dat ik nog nooit in mijn leven een dansles gehad heb?"

So, you would think that if sentences such as that were found at the end of level 2, level 3 should contain even more complicated language. You would be wrong. Here are some actual examples from level 3:

"Wat is er? Ik heb hoofdpijn."
"Het hek is achter de tuin."
"Ik heb een pleister op mijn elleboog."

Another complaint- the recorded voices speak ridiculously slow.

So, if you're thinking of buying Rosetta Stone level 3- DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
