f you want to watch Dutch / Flemish television in the
United states or Canada you can watch it for free after
you buy the satellite dish and receiver. The system
costs about $180 US not including installation of the
dish and cable into the house. I know people in my
Dutch night school that have put it in and love it.

There is no monthly charge.

You can find out more at http://www.bvn.tv

In the U.S. you can look at http://www.globecastwtv.com

then click on the left column BVN.

You can also watch a lot of Dutch and Belgian tv online, for example at these sites:

Uitzending gemist (Dutch public television)

De redactie (Belgian public television, mostly news)

I think they block some programs for foreign ip addresses, because of broadcasting rights, but I'm not sure.
You can probably still see quite a bit there, for free :-D
