Translation of the title cards from silent movie

Post by JakubWrzosek » Mon May 01, 2017 10:00 am

Hello.
My name is Kuba. I am a student at the Faculty of Conservation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. My thesis concerns the conservation of parts of the silent film from 1925 - Iwonka which was found in the Dutch archives in 2013. I was responsible for conservation of this material and engaged in collecting information about its history. In fact this just 20 minutes part of this film is the only surviving version. Before 2013 the film was considered lost. This version has Dutch title cards. I have a request to help translate the subtitles. Here You are a download link to 13 images with this title cards:

I would be very grateful for your help.

People might feel uncomfortable downloading something from somebody who's new here. So I downloaded them, uploaded them and posted them here. People can quote my post and add their translation. If you're lucky, someone will even translate it into Polish ...

In Polish, these are (from top to bottom):

"Tam są myśliwi"

"Poddaj się.... w przeciwnym razie podpalimy dom!

"Najpierw kup ubrania dla siebie, wtedy będziesz wyglądał'wyglądała przyzwoiciej"

"Jutro wykupie całe miasteczko i rozdam wszystko żołnierzom"

"Hura, jestem bogaty!

Big thanks BrutallyFrank and sorry, I haven't thought about this downloading issue.
One more time thank you
