Paying NT" fee from outside the Netherlands.

Post by markadams » Fri Nov 09, 2012 12:12 am

Please help! I have applied to do the NT2 exam and have been sent the acceptgiro to pay the 90 euro fee. I live in Northern Ireland and am having some difficulty with paying the money. My bank can do it but they said that there will be a fee deducted at the other end by whoever the dutch bank is. So i actually need to pay the 90 euro PLUS whatever the fee is. Problem is they can't tell me how much the fee will be to process the international payment when it is received by the bank in the Netherlands. Has anyone else had this problem? Can any buitenlanders who have done the exam give me any advice? I tried to pay at my post-office but they said they don't use the particular type of giro which I was sent!

You could probably find out who the receiving bank in the Netherlands is by looking at the bank account number, and then call them to find out, if you really want to know. For a euro to euro (so no exchange rate issues) payment for a sum like that, I can't imagine it would be much.

Kind of amateuristic that they don't accept credit cards or so, though...

Your bank will pay it by swift and that is expensive. I am sure it will be the same in Northern Island as it is here in the Uk. When I paid for my course with NTI it cost be £25 for the fee. Paying by paypal is much cheaper or credit card but a lot of companies in holland to not accept it unfortunately. I hope this helps.
