It might help if you explain what 'proper structure of the language' means Brad. Do mean grammar like "een grote auto" versus "een groot huis" or perhaps word order like:

Ik ga morgen naar huis
Morgen ga ik naar huis.
Ik zeg dat ik morgen naar huis ga.

All must be learned and can be learned but some is easier, some is harder.

Hi,
I think you should begin with the learning the grammatic rules and understand them through exercises. At the same time practice your proper wording it in oral form, try to speak more.
