How to pronounce 'gravgaard' ?

Post by abrogard » Tue Nov 28, 2017 9:33 pm

I am watching that Dutch series 'Dicte' and I hear (and see) that word 'gravgaard'. Somebody's name.

Seems to me they pronounce it 'Karlgo'.

I looked at a couple of Dutch pronunciation pages on the web but I couldn't see how they make that of it....

You can watch as many Dutch pronounciation pages as you can, but you won't find the answer there ... simply because Dicte is a Danish serie ....

cripes, what a blunder ! ah well, thanks for putting me straight... well, I knew it was Danish of course but somehow on the way to looking for explanation I veered off into the Nederlands..... amazing...

:)

p.s. and you're not close enough to them to know how they manage this trick?

Alas not ... If there are any influences where I live, it's German and French.
