Wedding help!

[spelling en uitspraak]
How do you pronounce 'gezellig'? What is the difference between 'eu' and 'ui'? How do you write...? You can use the phonetic keyboard if you are familiar with phonetic symbols.

Wedding help!

Postby Scott Yule » January 22nd, 2006, 1:36 pm

I perform wedding ceremonies in Japan and my new chapel has a sister chapel in Belgium so I've got to do a little bit of the ceremony in Dutch! Could anyone send me an audio file of the following:

Moge God al de toekomstige bruidsparen overvioedig zegenen die hun huwelijk zullen sluiten in de nieuwe Onze-Lievs-Vrouw kerk te Japan te Sakai, Moge zi, instrumenten zijn van Zijn oneindige liefde en mogen zij zijn naam: “Ik zal er zijn voor u” waarmaken in hun relatie als man en vrouw.
Ik wens alle koppels veel geluk op hun huwelijksdag.

It would be muchly appreciated!!!!!! Also, is the word "overvioedig" a mistake? I couldn't find it's meaning anywhere....

Hello Scott,

I just sent you the recorded text by email.

Overvioedig should be overvloedig (abundant).

We normally do not capitalize the possessive pronoun zijn but where it refers to God in religious texts, we often write Zijn.

Moge God al de toekomstige bruidsparen overvloedig zegenen die hun huwelijk zullen sluiten in de nieuwe Onze-Lieve-Vrouw kerk te Japan te Sakai.

Mogen zij instrumenten zijn van Zijn oneindige liefde en mogen zij Zijn naam: “Ik zal er zijn voor u” waarmaken in hun relatie als man en vrouw.

Ik wens alle koppels veel geluk op hun huwelijksdag.

Good luck with the ceremony!

Wedding Toast

Postby richard » July 12th, 2006, 7:46 pm

I need to make a toast at my friend's wedding. She is marrying a Dutch gentleman and I would like to say the toast in Dutch. Can you please let me know how to pronounce the following toast? "Veel geluk en liefde voor het bruidspaar."

Thank you!!
