Is there any difference between " handen omhoog" and " handen hoog"?


I give some examples. I am not sure that the Dutch examples are correct. (Ik geef twee voorbeelden. Ik ben niet zeker dat de Nederlandse voorbeelden juist zijn.)

1) The singer said : " Hands up!". = De zanger heeft gezegd : " Handen omhoog! ". / De zanger zei (zegde): " Handen hoog!".

2) The policeman said to him " Hands up!" . = De politieagent zei tegen hem " handen omhoog!. " / De politieagent zegde tegen hem " handen hoog!".

"Handen hoog" sounds a bit weird to me, but I can imagine that it is used in this situation. Singers may also say things like "Handen in de lucht!", "Laat die handen zien!" or "Ik wil jullie handen zien!"

2) The policeman said to him " Hands up!" . = De politieagent zei tegen hem " handen omhoog!. " / De politieagent zegde tegen hem " handen hoog!".

In this context, I'd say only "Handen omhoog!" is correct.
