Dutch lessons powerpoint

Would you like to publish your own sound files? As a Dutch native speaker, you can create sound files to help Dutch learners. If you are studying Dutch, you can record your voice to practice your pronunciation -- and ideally, let the rest of us enjoy it too. :)

Die zin was een beetje een Engelse zin met Nederlandse woorden. ;) "Past tense" is de verleden tijd (just like English "past", the Dutch word "verleden" can be either a noun, "het verleden", or an adjective).

"Prima" is misschien niet helemaal het woord dat je zoekt. "Prima" is vaak een beetje "damning with faint praise", bijvoorbeeld:

- Vind je het niet goed?
- Oh, jawel, het is prima.

Je zou dus beter "interessant" of "nuttig" of zoiets zeggen, denk ik.

Bedankt Quetzal
I am going to try and write some of my messages in Dutch as I need a lot of practice with writing and the more I write the better I will become. I know you will always look at it for me and I really do appreciate this.

jij woont in Belgie ja?
Ben jij Nederlandse of Vlaamse?

Ik woon in België, ja. Ik ben noch Nederlandse, noch Vlaamse, want ik ben een man. ;) En dus een Vlaming (geen Nederlander).

Denk ik je een vrouw was. -> Ik dacht dat je een vrouw was. [Ik dacht dat hij een kerel was dus heb ik dat geraden. :)]

Ik denk dat Belgie is ook een mooi land. -> Ik vind dat België ook een mooi land is. [Simpler: Ik vind België ook een mooi land. I have changed 'denk' to 'vind' because you have already had some impressions of Belgium. And I have transposed 'is' to the end of the sentence because of 'dat'.]

Je dacht dat ik een vrouw was? Vreemd, dat kom ik niet vaak tegen...

Ik neem aan dat je Gent en Brugge (of "Ghent and Bruges", om de Engelse namen te gebruiken) bedoelt. Toen ik die zin voor de eerste keer las was ik even heel erg in de war. :P
