My name's Ronny, I can only say a few words and phrases in Dutch. I've come here to learn! If I can answer any questions about English I'd be more than happy to help, although I most Dutch people seem to speak excellent English anyway...! My reasons for wanting to learn Dutch are a few: I love visiting NL and B and I have some friends who speak Dutch/Vlaams and I feel a bit bad relying on them to speak English all the time Some of my family are Dutch, but I didn't bother to learn when I was little. It's never too late! Oh, I'm also a big fan of the Ten Kate Racing team!

Hi Ronnie So you are half Dutch like me? I always wanted to learn Dutch but my mum never brought me up speaking it unfortunately. I agree with Joke 3 years ago I decided I was going to learn Dutch. Over the years I have done various beginner courses but never got further than te basics but this time I was determined.... And I am doing really well and now I am 51 so if I can do it so can you. I started 3 years ago with The Dutch language school in Oxford by correspondence and this month I am taking my GCSE. It has been hard work but I love it and whenever I get spare time I do some Dutch and try to use it whenever I can. My advice sign up with a course or correspondence course and be determined and the guys on here are next to none - really fantastic. They have helped me so much. I also have a Dutch speaking teacher who lives in Grongingen we speak via skype and she is excellent too. Waar woont je? (Where do you live?) Ik woon op het Isle of Wight. Groetjes Shazzy
