Hi everyone, I'm Lynn and am living in the Netherlands. I am studying Dutch for the Staatsexamen I. I came to Holland because I married a Dutch man. I find Dutch to be a challenging language indeed and very throaty. I used to drink lots of water and still do whenever I practice Dutch at home. If anyone here would like to study Dutch together or exchange experiences in Holland, feel free to contact me. Cheers, Lynn

Hi Lynn

Mijn naam is Sharon en ik woon in Engeland. I am have studied Dutch now for 3 years and back in May took my Dutch GCSE. If you are from the UK you will now this qualification. I am now studying for the NT2 Dutch qualification via NTI in Leiden. I don't live in holland but I would be very interested in having direct contact with you to practice and share experiences. Watch out for charlie as she has married a Dutch man so may well be able to help you too. I am half Dutch but my mother never brought us up to speak Dutch. How long have you lived in Holland? And how are you getting on with Dutch? Private message me if you would like direct contact.

Groetjes

Shazzy

Hi Shazzy,

I have been living in Holland for one and a half years :) One day I woke up and found that ... hey, I can speak a little bit of Dutch already (not that high level but reasonable enough to ask for directions and buying stuff in the market)...I believe I hit a plateau for a long time until I crossed over the top of the hill.

I have sent you a private message.

Cheers,
Lynn
