Hi all. I am a bit confused about the word steeds. I have seen it in the following:
Mannen drinken nog steeds meer dan vrouwen
Men still drink more than women
My idea is that steeds means 'still', 'continues to be' or 'keeps on being'. However, nog seems to mean the same sort of thing. Couldn't steeds be replaced with nog?
Am I right to translate these as follows?
Mannen drinken nog meer dan vrouwen
(Men still drink more than women)
Mannen drinken steeds meer dan vrouwen
(Men continue to drink more than women)
Mannen drinken nog steeds meer dan vrouwen
(Men still continue to drink more than women)
