Pronunciation Drills

Remember in My Fair Lady where Eliza learns "The rain in Spain..." ? I would like to see (and hear) something like that in Dutch. This is not the same as a tongue twister, but a chance to practice a sound repeatedly in a sentence in order to learn it.

Does anyone know of such sentences? Or would someone like to make some?

In de Nederlandse versie leert Eliza: "Het Spaanse graan heeft de orkaan doorstaan".

Als het goed is moet je ~~hier~~ 'Het Spaanse graan' kunnen horen.

You can actually listen to Dutch and Belgian Dutch (=Flemish, so that is what I speak), you will see that the pronunciation is usually the same! (Don't listen to silly stories about Flemings not speaking Dutch but Flemish, you'll do fine anyway

Mijn ervaring met acapela is dat het niet altijd helemaal goed klinkt, maar ik heb deze zin niet geprobeerd. Voor een eerste indruk is het natuurlijk prima, maar een echte stem klinkt altijd beter, toch?

Is dat op je eigen space of is dat een bijlage?

Waarom probeer je het niet.

Natuurlijk is een echte stem beter, maar dit is toch ook handig? Je luistert, als Nederlandstalige, eens naar wat ze op die site zeggen, je geeft je "zegen" en raadt het aan aan de anderen. :-P

Joke heeft er al vaak naar verwezen (ook op dit forum). Een mooie website, maar er gaat toch niets boven een live-opname.

That is good for 'aan', but I could also use some for 'aar', some 'ij' sounds and some 'g' practice and the dreaded 'sch' and who knows what else.

If these do not already exist, should we hold a contest to see who can come up with the best?

Joke, that site would not play for me at all.

I am afraid to use acapela to perfect my pronunciation. Won't that make me sound like a computer?

It's not just that I can't hear it, but I press play and nothing happens at all, except that the counter gets incremented. Maybe I'll try again, perhaps some other browsers?

Let me try a different file host.
I made a shared folder at esnips.com: try this.
Everybody has access to this folder and you can listen to 'Het Spaanse graan' and 'Op een grote paddenstoel' there.
