Pirms turpinām ar vietniekvārdiem, pieskarsimies tēmai par vietniekvārdu nomaiņu uz apstākļa vārdiem - valodas fenomenam, kas ir visai izplatīts ģermāņu valodās.
Angliski runājošajiem šī tēma nav jaunums:

(Viljams Šekspīrs)
Reizēm šāds stils tiek lietots arī modernajā angļu valodā:
"I am hereby sending you the details of your order."
"Therefore, we decided to postpone the project."
Kā tas notiek?
Whereof ir cits veids kā pateikt 'of which', bet hereby ir citādi izteikta frāze no 'by this', sekojoši: therefore = 'for that' un tā joprojām.
Ja pirms vietniekvārdiem what/which, this, that atrodas prievārdi: of, by vai for, vietniekvārdu var aizvietot ar apstākļa vārdiem where, here, vai there.
Bet iegaumējiet, ka šāda vietniekvārdu nomaiņa var notikt tikai attiecībā uz nedzīvām būtnēm vai priekšmetiem, nevis personām.
