Re: Vooraan/voor in/ onderaan/ onder in/ boven op/....

Hallo Liesavk, We zitten voor in de zaal We zitten vooraan in de zaal Ik zeg ook vaker 'voor in de zaal' dan 'vooraan in de zaal', maar beide zijn correct en betekenen ongeveer hetzelfde. In deze zinnen fungeren 'voor' en 'vooraan' als bijwoord. Je vind t de datum boven op de pagina --> Zo zegt niem...

Re: Long vowels and their length

Hey! I think is more about quality/sound than length. If you compare "man" and "maan", sure, one is a long a and one short, but actually saying them you can hear they're more like different sounds, right? They also feel different to pronounce. Lars That is indeed what it is abou...

Re: Uitleg van grammaticaregels

Bijna helemaal correct! Je schrijft "Ik heb ook nog een kleiner zusje'" (niet: "een kleiner e zusje"). Gebruik je een onbepaald lidwoord ('een'), dan vervalt de 'e' in het bijvoeglijk naamwoord ('klein', 'kleiner'). Het-woorden: Een klein zusje Het klein e zusje De-woorden: Een k...

Re: Position of 'niet' in a sentence

The list of rules LeSNT2 gave are useful tips that will get you a long way when deciding where to place 'niet' in a sentence. The only time when niet comes before a place, also according to them, is when the PLACE element refers to a direction. That is not exactly what it says on the page you refer ...

That is indeed because it is borrowed from French. Other examples are 'corrigeren' and 'chargeren'.

Re: word order Er in the beginning of the sentence.

Hi Erik, That is an interesting point! Looking at the examples on this page: https://www.dutchgrammar.com/en/?n=WordOrder.40, it appears that the subject should be positioned immediately next to the finite verb, but your example illustrates that the subject doesn't necessarily have to be right next ...
