Erop?

Hallo allemaal.
I was watching tv dating programme and a woman says to a man who has a kid:
"Het idee dat ik dan al het kaartje erop krijg gehangen van een stiefmoeder....Nee. "

I don't understand what she exactly means. I know she doesn't wanna be a stepmom but I am confused by the "erop krijg gehangen".
I know the basic uses of 'er + preprosition' but I can't seem to break it down when it comes to a sentence like this.
Does "er" indicate the "kaartje" that's mentioned before?
And "op" is because of "gehangen" of not?
What does the whole sentence mean?

With 'kaartje erop hangen' she means that she gets labelled. But in this case she uses the metaphor (beeldspraak) of literally getting a label. The word 'kaartje' is not really the common way to say this as we use the word 'label'. But every person will understand what she's saying.

In English the word label is quite innocent, but in Dutch it's very often used as categorization. So in this case the card works almost like a stigma.

Loosely translated: "The idea that I already will get labelled as a stepmother ... No."
My guess would be that she was quite young and not ready to be stepmother (which is often associated with the old and wicked stepmothers from fairytales).
