I am planning on visiting my sister in the Netherlands next year and I have been trying to learn Dutch for about six months using the Babbel online
App. However the website is leaving big gaps in my learning I would like to fill. Will I find help here?

Hi there, Kiwiheretic!
Welcome to Dutch Grammar Forum. I think you came to the right place to learn Dutch, although I'm a bit biased myself ...
The forum is not as busy as it used to be, but if you have questions you will get answer! Take a look here and visit the rest of the site to see if your question was asked before.
Cheers,

Thanks BrutallyFrank.
At the moment I am wondering if there are some online tests to test my A1 or A2 level achievement. I think Babbel ratings may be very misleading or just plain wrong. Are there any good websites to test what my level actually is?

You can use Google ("language tests dutch"), but problem is: you get commercial offers or lousy tests ... maybe somebody else know a good site?

You can use:
https://kleurrijker.nl/toets/instaptoet ... html5.html
Make the test: do you have more than 75%, you have reached level A1. With a score less than 75% you didn't reach level A1 yet.
You can also take a look at:
https://www.adappel.nl/oefenexamens
There you have A1 and A2 practice exams with the answers (at least for reading and listening, for speaking and writing you'll need a teacher to check your answers). The documents also say how many correct answers you need to pass the exam. If you pass the exam, you have reached the corresponding level.
Or:
https://leestoets.nl/ (instructions on the website in English)
Check https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/2112250/1224e46ac71f if you want to know your level of vocabulary
Good luck!
English isn't my first/best language. So in advance: Sorry for any mistakes!

At https://inburgeren.nl/examen-doen/oefenen.jsp you can find some examples for the official A2 integration examens. If you can pass those, you can say your level is A2.
