Bij voorbaat dank,

Gules

Bedankt Q. Nog een vraag: What are the different uses for "Thank you" -- specifically when would you use 'Bedankt', 'dankje', et cetera.

Also, in a lesson I am studying there are these sentences:
"Hoeveel kost deze taart?"
"Hij kost tien dollar."

Is the use of 'hij' correct in this situation? Does 'hij' take the place of 'het' ?

Groetjes,

Gules

"Is the use of 'hij' correct in this situation?"
Yes, it is (although I don't like it because I happen to know the gender of 'taart' [= feminine]). If you don't know the actual gender of a "de-word" (e.g. 'de taart') then you should refer to it with 'hij' (or hem/zijn etc., as necessary).

"Does 'hij' take the place of 'het'?"
No, it doesn't. It takes the place of "de taart / deze taart".

- Hoeveel kost deze fiets?
- Hij kost tweehonderd dollar.

- Hoeveel kost dit huis?
- Het kost één miljoen dollar.

Graag gedaan. (Dankje wel. -> Dank je wel.)

Is deze juiste woordvolgorde? -> Is deze woordvolgorde juist?

'Wat zou je vanavond doen?' is perfect.
