Hoe zeg ik: "I am ready for autumn/fall (to arrive)"?

Is dit juist: "Ik ben klaar voor de herfst"?

Of is er een betere zin?

Well, I only write my own opinion which is not necessarily correct. So it should be received with a healthy suspicion. (This was the disclaimer in order to avoid any futile discussions. )

Yes, you can say "Ik ben klaar voor" ... for "I am ready for ...". If you are a soldier who is ready for the battle, you can say "Ik ben klaar voor de slag". Or, if you are a women who could lose weight and bought some sun tan lotion, you can say, "Ik ben klaar voor de zomer".
If you want to express that you'll be ready by that/some time, you can use in: "In de herfst zal ik klaar zijn voor vertrek" (Or: "In de herfst zal ik klaar zijn om te vertrekken").

Ik denk dat het eerste stuk van deze bovenstaande zin juist is, maar ik weet het niet hoe het te eindigen.

Ik wil zeggen: "If you 'get around to it' / 'want to ask him about [arbitrary topic here]' then you should do so."

Of: "If you get around to asking him about [topic here] then you should (do so)."

You're right to doubt that, it's a bit strange as written. However, if you add "iets", it's fine: "Als je hem iets over het weer wilt vragen,...".

Een andere zin: "Als je hem over [het weer] vragen wilt [...]."

"Then you should do so" = "dan moet je dat (maar) doen". The "maar" isn't required, but is used to make it sound less sharp - out of context, "dan moet je dat doen" could sound like a command.

Ik zou eerder "momenteel" gebruiken in deze context, omdat het echt over het moment zelf gaat. "Tegenwoordig" is ruimer (dan spreek je bv. over het aantal spelers dat in de laatste maand of zo op de server is geweest).
